Bowhill & Elliott has been producing handmade slippers in Norwich, England, since 1874. In their own workshop, traditional British shoemaking is combined with the opportunity to create a pair of slippers according to your own choices.
At Hammargruppen, you can order Bowhill & Elliott Made to Order for both men and women. You choose the model, size, material, and color, and can then customize details such as piping, lining, sole, and, on selected models, embroidery or monograms.
Create your own slippers
Start by choosing the model that suits your style and intended use. The classic Albert model features a higher, more pronounced tongue and is strongly associated with traditional smoking slippers. The Venetian model has a lower, cleaner silhouette and a more minimalist expression.
Depending on the model, you can then choose between different materials and colors for the upper, such as velvet or suede, and combine these with various piping, linings, and soles. This allows you to create everything from a discreet and classic pair to a more personal design with contrasting colors and details.
The choice of sole also affects how the shoes can be used. A softer sole is primarily suitable for indoor use, while a sturdier sole makes the model better suited for dinner, parties, and other occasions outside the home.

On selected Made to Order models, you can make your shoes even more personal with embroidery. Choose, for example, a monogram with your own initials, an existing embroidered motif, or, where the service is offered, a family crest.

What does Made to Order mean?
Made to Order means that your pair is manufactured only after the order has been placed. The shoes are created individually based on the model, size, material combination, and details you have selected.
The delivery time varies depending on the model and design and is normally about 4–12 weeks. The current estimated delivery time is indicated on each product page.
Since the shoes are manufactured specifically according to your choices, Made to Order purchases are binding. Custom-made models, monograms, family crests, and other personalized designs are therefore not covered by Hammargruppen's standard return, exchange, or cancellation policy.
